The Old Courthouse is excited to welcome the 2023 Fremantle International Street Arts Festival to our very own stage.
Fremantle International Street Arts Festival started as a celebration of Fremantle’s local busking culture in 1999 and has grown into a showcase of the world’s best street theatre.
Each year over the Easter long weekend, the streets of Fremantle are transformed into an open-air theatre of the amazing, weird and wacky, while Fremantle’s famous alfresco dining steps up a notch, with pop-up bars and eateries extending into the streets.
Entertainment centres around several major ‘pitches’ or performance locations and roving performers pop up in surprising and interesting places all across the City.
The Old Courthouse Pitch will host Christophe Pavia’s Coiffures Baroque’s representing France.
Inspired, artistic, and truly original, Christophe Pavia’s hair transformations enchant audiences around the world. With a few ribbons, flowers, birds, butterflies, and a lot of whimsical skill, ‘le coiffeur fou’ takes lucky audience members and transforms them into a countess for a day, a living piece of art in only seven minutes.
